the training, development, and support of the EY US Payroll Tax
Compliance workstream by executing on the vision set forth by
Payroll leadership. Responsible for performing day to day tasks
within the tax function and help monitor the payroll processing to
ensure timely compliance with tax agencies and adhere to
established procedures. -The opportunityThe position provides

key responsibilities
- Drives operational excellence and ensures personal
accountability of results through collaboration with other
workstream members
- Able to review work of others on the team and recommend
changes/enhancements. Strives for maximizing the use of the
implemented technologies
- Operates as the primary Subject Matter Resource (SMR) for Tax
reporting for the EY US payroll team; this individual will create
or advise on complex reports
- Understands and identifies Segregation of Duties (SoD) in
business processes and reports enforcement throughout the payroll
teams
- Promotes teamwork to enhance payroll compliance
- Mentors, coaches, and provides a lending ear to other
workstream coordinators -
- Monitors and advises payroll team regarding accuracy and
corrective actions
- Assists the Tax supervisor in ensuring that proper payments and
employee contributions are calculated and disbursed, as well as
ensuring payroll process and work instruction documents are
maintained properly
- Supports the functional payroll team supervisors in ensuring
processes are following current documentation -
- Contributes to development and maintenance of Payroll
Procedures per payroll policy and pay practice. As required by the
Tax supervisor, may administer, and maintain procedures related to
Tax functions, amendments, Quarter/Year End, tax filings, and
shadow payrolls among other things
- Performs W-2 reconciliation and W-2c processing
- May assist the Tax supervisor with strategy, design, training,
security, development, and distribution of payroll reporting for
statutory agencies and internal consumers
- Under minimal supervision, executes resolution of
internal/external problems in a high volume, fast paced, and
deadline driven payroll environment
- Challenges existing policies, processes, and approaches (where
appropriate) and offers innovative suggestions for process
improvement efforts, helps to implement opportunities that improve
operational efficiency or effectiveness of the team
- Performs ad hoc requests or special projects as needed
- Directs and assists in development of KPI development and
reporting of the functional performance of the payroll team
- Prepares regular status updates for the Tax Supervisor to then
communicate to leadership regarding workstream results -Skills and
attributes for success
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

-To qualify for the role you must have
- Tax experience preferred or similar role in similar-sized
organization
- Has the payroll-specific knowledge and skills needed, ability
to learn quickly, and act as a subject matter resource (SMR) to
execute on the firm's vision of the Tax process and work as
directed by Payroll leadership as well as with other stakeholders,
where required -
- Advanced proficiency with technology products including but not
limited to: Microsoft Office Products, ADP GlobalView, ServiceNow,
the Payroll Control Center and other payroll related
applications
- Must demonstrate both effective verbal and written
communication
- Utilize firm policy and procedure documents to train new
members of the Tax team under supervision from the Tax supervisor
while minimizing disruption of services; make updates to work
stream documentation as needed based upon identified process
improvements -Ideally, you'll also have
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years or progressive related (Payroll) work
experience
- Payroll certification preferred (i.e. CPP - Certified Payroll
