Crown Castle is an S&P 500 company and one of the largest Real Estate Investment Trusts in the United States with an enterprise value of approximately $60 billion.Position SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance and operations professional to join a growing organization. The individual will drive key finance initiatives, operational strategy, and monitor control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.Essential Job Functions* Oversee an Area's short- and long-term forecasting and financial modeling to be used for business and customer management, guidance provided to our investor relations function, cost management and capital allocation decisions. This responsibility will require strong collaboration with the Corporate FP&A function.* Contributes actively to the evolution and execution of the Area's strategic and business plans, providing strategic input and leadership to support the Area's growth objectives and proactively address challenges.* Manages and oversees project controls for Tower and Small Cell projects, including (1) planning, scheduling, cost estimation and monitoring; (2) ensuring the ongoing usage of standardized project management tools and systems; (3) establishing operating policies to mitigate risk; (4) providing consultation and guidance to project management teams; (5) providing accurate and timely information to project management team to enable them to make informed decisions and take necessary actions to correct any possible adverse situations or trends; and (6) establishing regular project review processes to relate pertinent project-level information to Area and Corporate executive management.* In conjunction with the Corporate Supply Chain function, determines the appropriate policies, procedures and controls to maintain an efficient and effective supply chain that (1) leverages vendor relationships to reduce costs; (2) evaluates vendor qualifications and ensures adherence to the qualification criteria set by the Corporate Supply Chain team; (3) works with vendors and suppliers to meet delivery, cost and quality requirements; (4) maintains strong and effective relationships with vendors across the Area; and (5) maintains an appropriate risk profile across our supply chain.* In conjunction with the Corporate IT and Process Improvement functions, help identify and ensure the implementation of systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information, including automating processes to increase efficiency where applicable.* Provides strong leadership in the recruitment, training and development of top quality financial talent to ensure the finance organization has a high level of performance and productivity. Instills a culture that emphasizes accountability and transparency among the finance team and within the Area as a whole.* Manages, mentors and supervises direct reports through active participation in performance management and talent planning and development.* Serves as a spokesperson to Area employees to communicate the Company's business model, strategy, operational, and financial objectives, including enhancing the Area's financial acumen and decision-making competencies through training and educational efforts.* Ensures compliance with internal controls to comply with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.* Serves as an Area cross-functional partner that maintains continuous lines of communication throughout the Area, keeping the Area senior leadership team informed of all critical issues (opportunities / threats / challenges).Education/CertificationsBachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related preferredMaster's Degree preferredExperience/Minimum RequirementsMinimum eight (8) years of combined experience in progressively responsible finance or operational leadership rolesOther Skills/Abilities* Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), and the ability to interface effectively with all levels within the organization, including executive and senior management teams.* Strong relationship-building skills that fosters trust and collaboration with the Area and Corporate teams.* Strong financial/commercial acumen and the ability to assess value, risks and tradeoffs.* Strategic thinker that can balance the organization's short and long-term future while taking into account the organization's capabilities, resources and objectives.* Proven decision-making skills and the ability to assemble many pieces of information into a cohesive and sophisticated understanding of complex issues.* Ability to prioritize, coordinate and align resources and objectives across multiple work groups.* Ability to foster a culture that supports creativity, innovation and well-reasoned risk-taking.* Ability to re-engineer processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.* Ability to portray financial results in a simple manner.* Personal attributes include high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.Reports to: Area VP Finance and StrategyCrown Castle is an Equal Opportunity Employer
