Neenah is growing and we are searching for an experienced individual for the newly created role of Director, Engagement & Communications. As a key leader on the Chief Human Resources & Chief Administrative Officer's leadership team, the Director, Engagement & Communications will be responsible for partnering with Neenah's senior leaders to define, shape and foster a culture that is strategically relevant and globally cohesive, build and execute upon employee engagement and communications strategies (both internal and external) aimed to create high levels of employee devotion that lead to World Class business results and sustainable value creation through transparent, meaningful and timely communication. Successful candidates will be a successful communications leader with deep experience in a global company and a proven track record of building and driving successful communications and engagement strategies and process that clearly drive the objectives of the business. Strong strategic capabilities as well as hands-on and comfortable with tactical execution.----The principle areas of focus and accountability include (where possible and/or appropriate, in partnership with Neenah Marketing Services team) responsibility for global strategy and execution related to:Employee engagementInternal and external communications/public relations (including design, video and social media)Leadership engagementCorporate eventsCorporate philanthropy/volunteerismResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Partnering with key Neenah leaders to define, shape and coordinate a global Neenah culture that is both strategically relevant and globally cohesive, driving a culture that provides the organization with the greatest opportunity to create value and achieve best-in-class results for many generations.Work with Human Resources leadership and other key stakeholders to establish, activate and advance standard behaviors and beliefs based on Neenah strategy, vision and values.Lead efforts to define, roll-out, execute and advance Neenah's Purpose, using the Purpose platform as a key vehicle for building a cohesive, strategically relevant global culture.Partner with the Global Talent Acquisition team, Global Talent & Performance Management team and key hiring managers to appropriately emphasize the importance of external candidate culture fit, extending beyond skill and background fit.--Partner with the Global Talent Acquisition team to ensure that the organization emphasizes and communicates culture to attract future talent through employment branding and digital strategy efforts.Move Neenah to "Employer of Choice" status by fostering a culture and environment that attracts top talent.Establish mechanisms for employees to bond with one another and develop greater connection to the business and all of Neenah's segments and categories - not just their specific segment.Partner with Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition teams and HR leaders to inform key employee development, communication and total rewards processes and programs to align with desired behaviors, values and knowledge.Partner with global Human Resources teams and others to align leadership and employee review processes with cultural and employee engagement goals.--Partnering with key Neenah leaders to foster an environment that focuses on driving emotional and intellectual involvement of all Neenah employees, building long-term commitment to the organization that leads people around the globe to do their best work, achieving World Class results with increased discretionary effort, lowering turnover and increasing employee tenure.Responsible for the execution of Neenah's regular global employee engagement survey deployment and action planning strategies.Define key areas of focus for the organization.Interpret results and support Group, GBU, and regional leaders with action planning.Align employee engagement model (i.e., language and key areas of concern) with organization's cultural and strategic goals; educate leadership about importance of engagement and connection to strategically relevant culture.----Develop and implement a comprehensive, transparent and global employee communications strategy, with specific focus placed upon moving Neenah to "Employer of Choice" status and projecting an authentic image to our employees.Work with global leaders to maximize employee awareness of initiatives and platforms including but not limited to:Rewards & recognitionConnectednessCompany news and informationPurpose, vision & valuesCompany practicesQuality of lifeCareer & development opportunitiesAssist the CEO and other senior leaders in preparing company town halls/global meetings and other presentations.Responsible for the preparation of company announcements, overviews, briefing papers, brochures, talking points, etc.Develop strategies related to new and emerging technology options to ensure that the opportunity to maximize the delivery of key messages to the intended audience.--This will include, but is not limited to, mobile applications, Intranet technologies, e-mail technologies, social media, video content and other new and emerging technologies.Establish metrics that measure the effectiveness of communication vehicles to ensure programs and initiatives are achieving planned objectives.Establish effective best practices in employee communications that can be leveraged across the organization.Collaborate with Investor Relations leaders to drive tailored and consistent employee communication and external/public relations messaging.Ensure communication strategies are integrated, aligned and drive improvement to various employee communication efforts, and that pieces fit together and are easily understood by the intended audience.Responsible for creative, graphics design and visual identity strategies related to Neenah communications.Improve leadership visibility and communication:Elevate SLT and local leader image and internal approval ratings with a communications strategy focused on effectively disseminating the corporate narrative via several different touch points: e-mail, Neenah Meet-ups, mobile app launch/intranet refresh, podcasts and/or video; goal is to increase confidence and trust in, and visibility of, SLT and local leaders.Support HR leadership, in particular the Talent & Organizational Development team, as they build and launch talent and performance management platform, and the Total Rewards team both compensation and benefits efforts.Pilot a cross-functional, Global Communications Council comprised of select People Managers, with a mission of all-way communication between leaders and employees.Review, refresh and re-launch a Neenah philanthropic platform.--Develop and implement a comprehensive, global external communications/public relations strategy, with specific focus placed upon moving Neenah to "Employer of Choice" status and projecting an authentic image to our customers, supply partners, and communities.Develop and execute external storytelling strategy and identify niches of media-worthy content within the organization.Work with internal partners to concisely articulate the Neenah corporate narrative.----Refresh and re-launch external-facing Neenah web presence.Promote Neenah's unique story: the company's advantaged capabilities around innovation or technology, for instance, announcements of key leadership and business changes, divestitures and philanthropic initiatives, value-driven corporate initiatives, and interesting operations and processes unique to the company.Elevate corporate voice and visual identity across all owned digital platforms and externally, from the corporate website to third party generated materials that include Neenah's Intellectual Property.Develop and execute social media strategy, in partnership with Marketing Services team. Strengthen the Neenah narrative and create an enthusiastic and positive exchange with our audience on our social media channels, while dispersing relevant company news that support our story and attractiveness as an employer.QualificationsBS/BA or University degree.Entrepreneurial spirit, with demonstrated experience working in fast-paced environment.Ability to work successfully in a highly matrixed environment.7-10+ years of experience developing and deploying impactful communications solutions in a complex global company.Demonstrated track record of effectively leading teams, coaching, building partnerships and effectively managing and resolving challenges.Demonstrated track record of effectively coaching and serving the communications needs of multiple senior executives (preferably C-level and/or President-level) at one time.Creative thinker who is not afraid to attempt new strategies.Highly developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.Ability to generate results through influence in a matrix environment with multiple and diverse stakeholders.Experience using digital and social media tools to create effective communications programs.Strong strategic global mindset with the ability and desire to deliver on tactical goals.Strong process & project management skills.Ability to translate value propositions into creative communication concepts.Skilled listener, with the business acumen to translate concepts into actionable employee communication strategies and tactics.Spearheading and synchronizing the company's internal and external communications strategy and execution globally.--Strong written and verbal communication skills.Interpersonal savvy.Ability to motivate teams to produce desired outcomes within tight timeframes.Ability to work with and connect with all levels of employees.Strong planning & organizing skills.Initiative & follow-up, including a strong sense of autonomy.Demonstrated problem solving skills.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.Ability to generate results through influence in a matrix environment with multiple and diverse global stakeholders.Demonstrated capability to interact directly with senior leaders and management.Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize and effectively manage multiple complex projects concurrently and develop in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated service mentality.Demonstrated sense of urgency.Strong work ethic and demonstrated "get things done" mentality.Demonstrated track record of successful large, scale program roll-out, including change management and communications.
