Business Development Manager Job DescriptionThe Business
Development Manager (BDM) is often the first point of contact a new
potential client will have when seeking information about the
consulting services Sure Power provides.--BDM's are responsible for
building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and
industry professionals.--BDM's achieve gross-profit targets by
accurately gathering client requirements, understanding client
procurement policies and procedures, and preparing and presenting
accurate and attractive consulting solutions. Business Development
Manager Essential Functions* Perform warm and cold calling of past,
current, and prospective clients.* Build, manage, and nurture
meaningful relationships with past, current, and prospective
clients through active listening, needs anticipation, and
world-class support. * Travel to client locations (in and out of
state) and/or attend industry-related conferences and functions.*
Develop a conversational knowledge of the Power & Utilities
industry and key technologies used therein. * Develop a
comprehensive knowledge of Sure Power's core capabilities,
qualifications, and history of consulting services. * Closely
collaborate with inter-office teammates with a 'Team First'
attitude. * Actively engage with current and proposed consultants
to better understand industry trends and technologies, and to
develop a comprehensive understanding of client needs and
opportunities. * Accurately and effectively utilize SalesForce.com
and Microsoft Office applications. * Support clients in all
time-zones at their convenience (may require work activity to
extend beyond traditional hours).* Accurately follow established
internal policies and procedures related to the preparation and
presentation of consulting services proposals and consulting
resources. Successful Business Development Managers: * Must be
outgoing and self-motivated with a strong desire to exceed client
expectation of company performance targets.* Must have strong
time-management skills and the ability to multitask with both focus
and discipline.* Must have excellent written and oral communication
skills, to include presentation and public speaking capabilities. *
Must have a strong ability to 'read the room' and respond
appropriately to varying client and partner audiences. * Must be
able to quickly and accurately recall Sure Power qualifications and
'connect the dots' when introducing our capabilities to current and
prospective clients.
