Job Overview:
The Product Management team for the Stores Domain is focused on addressing pain points in Macy's stores for both our Colleagues and Customers. We measure our progress with KPIs such as increasing average value per visit, improving Net Promoter Score, and increasing associate efficiency. This team delivers new and enhanced products that shape our customer and colleague experiences.

Our Senior Managers of Product Management leverage their passion for building great products with their stellar coaching and training abilities to develop a world class Product Management team.

These teams are enhanced by partnering with tech, analytics, UX, and functional/business SMEs in an Agile & Lean product delivery environment to deliver products that delight our users.
Senior managers will be responsible for shaping the long-term roadmaps and strategies for a portfolio of products while managing a team of Product Managers at a variety of levels.

Be comfortable developing, articulating, and defending a point of view to different audiences at all levels within the organization. Have a strong point of view, weakly held. Be an effective communicator who tailors messages based on audience, environment, and context. Be adept at storytelling and distilling complex concepts into simple messages. Be agile and adaptable. Value perspective and seek the "right" answer vs. "being right". Demonstrate the ability to influence, rather than rely on direct authority. Able to flex between strategic thinking and tactical execution, balancing multiple priorities simultaneously. Be able to effectively coach and advise, with different styles. Not only coach & manage, but also learn from their direct reports. Be passionate about building great user experiences.

Essential Functions:
The Senior Manager of Product Management's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Coaching and guiding product managers through user centered ideation, discovery, definition, and prioritization.
Coach and lead customer research to develop empathy, identify critical problems to solve, expectations, behaviors, etc.
Analysis of data both internal and external to aid in product planning and prioritization.
Analysis of competitive landscape and recommendation for positioning.
Analysis of industry trends and emerging opportunities.
Create and maintain partnerships with technical teams to evaluate technical constraints, complexities, & capabilities.
Financial modeling for ROI analysis.
Develop and maintain the strategic roadmap for products in the portfolio.
Storytelling & socialization of the products with all levels of stakeholders.
Navigate complexities of stakeholder landscape. Leverage expertise and drive alignment amongst the stakeholder groups.
Coaches product management team on Agile product delivery principles and practices
Ensures that post delivery measurements are done in an effort to measure impact and pivot when needed.
Actively coach product managers throughout the product lifecycle - serving as a point of escalation for blockers, guidance around tradeoffs & impacts, and support in navigating the organization.
Provide measurable goals (organizational, product, and individual) & invest in individual growth and career progression for each direct report - tailoring approach & style as needed to drive maximum engagement and value contribution to Macy's.

Qualifications and Competencies:
Bachelors degree required, MBA a plus
7+ years of product management experience; within Retail industry & Agile methodology a plus
2+ years experience managing direct reports, within Product Management organization a plus
Ability to effectively share technical information, communicate technical issues and solutions to all levels of business
Able to juggle multiple projects - can identify primary and secondary objectives, prioritize time and communicate timeline to team members
Ability and desire to take product/project ownership
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs
