About This Role
The Associate Director of Enterprise Application Integration will
lead the development and execution of integration strategies that
connect enterprise systems across a complex digital ecosystem. This
role is responsible for designing and managing scalable, secure,
and efficient integration solutions that support data
interoperability and business process automation across both legacy
and modern cloud applications. You will guide a team of integration
engineers and work closely with solution architects, integration
engineers, and product teams to enable seamless data exchange that
supports real-time analytics, process automation, and digital
transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Integration Strategy & Architecture
- Define and implement the enterprise integration roadmap aligned
with business and IT strategies.
- Promote the use of canonical integration patterns such as
publish/subscribe, request/reply, event streaming, and
orchestration via middleware and APIs.
- Drive standardization and reuse of integration patterns across
APIs, messaging systems, ETL/ELT pipelines, and event-driven
architectures.
- Evaluate and implement best practices for modern integration
architecture including RESTful APIs, publish/subscribe, and
middleware tools.
- Define and evolve the enterprise integration strategy, ensuring
alignment with the company's cloud-first, data-driven
architecture.
- Provide architectural oversight on integrations between ERP,
CRM, HR, finance, and other enterprise platforms.
Team Leadership & Execution
- Lead and mentor a team of application integration engineers,
setting clear priorities and development goals.
- Collaborate with solution architecture, platform, and data
engineering teams to ensure integrations are secure, observable,
and maintainable.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of integration solutions-from design
and development to deployment and operational support.
Operational Excellence & Governance
- Partner with data governance, security, and compliance teams to
ensure integrations meet regulatory and internal policy
requirements.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging to ensure high
availability and resilience of integration flows.
- Drive automation of integration testing and deployment using
CI/CD practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise integration, software
engineering, or systems architecture roles.
- 3+ years of experience leading integration or engineering
teams.
- 5+ years of experience with Boomi for building and managing
data and application integrations.
- 8+ years of experience with Enterprise Integration Patterns
(EIPs) and modern middleware practices, including asynchronous
messaging and RESTful API design.
- 3+ years leading or architecting Boomi-based integration
initiatives at scale (e.g., managing API gateways, platform
governance, or hybrid integrations).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience integrating SaaS and on-prem systems across ERP,
CRM, HR, and financial domains.
- Proficiency in API authentication and security protocols
(OAuth2, SAML, etc.).
- Deep understanding of integration concepts including ETL, API
management, messaging systems (e.g., Kafka), and event-driven
architecture.
- Hands-on experience with integration platforms such as Boomi,
Workato MuleSoft, or AWS-native services (e.g., Lambda,
EventBridge, Step Functions).
- Experience working with ERP, CRM, and cloud-native systems
(e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Workday, AWS).
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, authentication standards
(OAuth2, SAML), and secure data transmission practices.
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub
Actions, AWS CodePipeline).
- Experience with real-time and batch data movement solutions
including AWS DMS, Qlik Replicate, or custom CDC frameworks.
- Exposure to data lake or data mesh architectures and how
integrations support these environments.
- Familiarity with Python, JSON/XML transformations, and
integration testing frameworks.
- AWS or integration-related certifications (e.g., AWS Developer,
Boomi Professional Developer).
