Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:The Vice President of Bankruptcy, Estate and Contact Center is responsible for managing bankruptcy, estate and contact center processes, strategies and initiatives that drive process improvement, demonstrate sustainability of existing processes and partner with business leaders in supporting the strategic direction of the business. The individual will be responsible for the Process P&L, initiative prioritization, issue resolution and people management. This position manages 3 vice presidents, supporting exempt employees and a total team of over 200 employees. This position also provides direct leadership for several critical bankruptcy, estate and technology suppliers.Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership for the bankruptcy, estate and contact center processes
  • Works with process leaders, compliance, legal, ops risk and internal audit to establish compliant operating processes
  • Ability to understand the 'as is' process environment, determine areas of opportunity and partner with functional groups to obtain buy in and operationalize improvements
  • Identify, report, fix and close out any defects or issues within defined SLAs established
  • Provide overall leadership and program management of process initiatives that are currently in process or those that have not been initiated
  • Oversee all process flows and documentation
  • Manage financial goals for recovery income and operating expenses
  • Act as the primary interface for the department with various external teams including remediation, supplier surveillance and process control
  • Establish overall cross-functional review rhythm for strategic objectives
  • Coordinate cross-functional tactical and strategic programs including major regulatory deliverables
  • Lead and develop a team of professional subject matter experts
  • Support business-wide initiatives as needed including but not limited to Projects, RCSA's and Business Governance
  • Develop/maintain strong rapport with Senior Leader Clients as well as internal, key stakeholders
  • Create/support highly involved team environment and drive to support \"Employer of Choice\" culture
  • Provide leadership, communication, coaching and professional development to direct reports and their teams
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assignedQualifications/Requirements:
    • Operationally broad and comprehensive understanding of bankruptcy, estate and call center processes within financial services
    • Bachelor's degree or in lieu of a degree 10 years of equivalent experience working in the Financial Services Industry
    • Minimum 7 years of direct operational management experience at the senior level
    • Demonstrated success leading a team with proven track record of delivering results
    • Strong overall knowledge of card business including risk, collections, operations, marketing and finance with emphasis on Bankruptcy process management
    • Must be willing to travel up to 15% of the timeDesired Characteristics:
      • Bankruptcy SME with a strong understand of Credit Grantor support
      • Strong process and analytical skills
      • Minimum of 10 years' negotiation and management experience
      • Ability to effectively interface and represent Synchrony at the most senior levels
      • Ability to innovate and find creative solutions to meeting business goals
      • Demonstrated capability to drive cross-functional initiatives on an enterprise level
      • Skilled communicator who influences and negotiates effectivelyEligibility Requirements:
        • You must be 18 years or older
        • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
        • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection process
        • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
        • Effective 1-1-18, new hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post.
