Senior Test Engineer (Performance Lab)Create Test Plans based on analysis of capacity projections, test scenarios, use case documentation and system requirements documentation. Develop detailed performance metrics based on test results. Interface with System Engineering and Software Development teams regarding all system and application level issues. Responsible for tracking and reporting of capacity, performance or infrastructure issues identified. Communicate to the project team the quality of the systems and applications, through statistics the team will need in order to set scalability/reliability expectations. Create scripts to parse log files for testing results. Draw conclusions and recommendations from testing performed. Articulate task progress to executive management, and work well with all members of the development and operational teams. Proactively identify potential performance issues from testing prior to the app. Identify issues with the Performance Center environment and resolve them as needed. Work with vendors to resolve performance tool issues and escalations. Assist with upgrades and patch releases for the performance tools environment. Review new technologies in the industry and effectively evaluate and implement them into the current environment when needed.RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and Execute automated performance test scenarios to emulate user traffic under load
• Development of detailed performance metrics based on test results.
• Interface with System Engineering and Software Development teams regarding all system and application level issues.
• Tracking and reporting of capacity, performance or infrastructure issues identified.
• Communicate to the project team the quality of the systems and applications, through statistics the team will need in order to set scalability/reliability expectations.
• Escalation of issues with test scripts and deployments.
• Creating scripts to parse log files for testing results.
• Draw conclusions and recommendations from testing performed.
• Be able to articulate task progress to the executive management, and work well with all members of the development and operational teams.
• Be able to proactively identify potential performance issues from testing prior to the app
• Be able to identify issues with the Performance Center environment and resolve them as needed
• Be able to work with vendors to resolve performance tool issues and escalations
• Be able to assist with upgrades and patch releases for the performance tools environment
• Be able to review new technologies in the industry and effectively evaluate and implement them into the current environment when neededESSENTIONAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

  • MS Office skills especially Word and Excel
    Basic requirements for consideration
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
    • 7 years' experience in application and system performance testing
    • At least 5-10 years utilizing LoadRunner and HP Performance Center required.
    • At least 5 years utilizing Visual Studio for .net application performance testing required.
    • Experience using CA Lisa as a method to virtualize end points is a plus
    • Experience using Splunk and XtraHop as a monitoring tool is a plus
    • Strong performance analysis background.
    • Development of Automate performance scripts.
    • Software development background is a plus.
    • Ability to work closely with development, software engineering and infrastructure engineers.
    • General knowledge of RHEL-LINUX and Windows OS.
    • IBM Mainframe, .NET platform, UNIX or Web technology performance testing experience a plus.
    • Experience or knowledge of Web Services.
    • DB2 and/or relational database knowledge.
    • Shell scripting background a plus.
    • Excellent communications, writing and editing skills needed to transfer information to individuals involved in the development process.
