Experience with cardiac drips and hemodynamic monitoring
Description: Minimum experience of 1 year is required. First-time
travelers are not accepted. Patient population includes adults to
geriatrics. Responsibilities include overflow IMCU and arrhythmia
management. Candidates should be proficient in cardioversion and
care for patients with CHF and chest pain. Experience with renal
and pulmonary patients is necessary. Knowledge of DVT and
management of stable cardiac arrhythmias is expected. Experience
with surgical patients, such as those post-cholecystectomy or
appendectomy, is required. Occasional exposure to vascular patients
and post-cardiac catheterization care is necessary. Candidates must
be familiar with the management of DKA and have a basic
understanding of arrhythmias. Knowledge of various cardiac drips
such as amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin,
milrinone, heparin, argatroban, aggrastat, bumex, and lasix is
essential. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5-6 in a
32-bed unit. Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is
preferred. Scrub color required is navy blue. Weekend shifts will
be scheduled every other weekend. Floating may be required within
the facility. Call requirements are rare, with a response time of 2
hours. If one major holiday occurs during the assignment, the
traveler is expected to work it. Availability to work is required
for major holidays that fall within the assignment period. Full
compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on
time. Candidates will undergo a clinical review to assess fit
before final selection. Two supervisory references are preferred
for consideration. The candidate must submit required documentation
promptly to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
