(CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating
Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. A Surgical Technologist
Certified is sought for a contract position in Alpharetta, GA,
supporting both hospital and outpatient surgical centers. This role
operates under the guidance of a registered professional nurse,
assisting in providing safe, culturally aware, and age-appropriate
care in surgical settings. The ideal candidate handles moderate to
high acuity cases, demonstrating advanced surgical skills,
efficient preparation, and strong teamwork. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain the sterile surgical environment, including
operative suite setup and instrument sterilization. Anticipate
surgical needs by reviewing case details, preference cards, and
equipment requirements. Assist surgeons during procedures by
passing instruments and maintaining organized surgical fields.
Participate in safety protocols, such as procedure time-outs and
surgical counts. Support inventory management, ordering, and
compliance with regulatory standards. Mentor and train new staff
and students in surgical technology practices. Provide
post-operative care by handling specimens and ensuring cleanliness.
Respond to on-call and emergency situations with flexibility and
professionalism. Qualifications and Experience: Certification in
surgical technology or a related surgical nursing license. Current
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Proven knowledge of
surgical procedures and sterile techniques. Strong communication
and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and perform under
stress in fast-paced environments. Basic computer literacy
including Word and Excel. Minimum high school diploma or
equivalent; graduation from an accredited surgical technology
program preferred. National certification required upon hire.
Schedule: Day Shift: Four 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM 5:30 PM),
flexible across various days. On-call: 3 shifts per month,
including one 24-hour weekend on-call monthly. Holidays: Minimum of
