Exceptional opportunity for experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses to support perioperative care across Pre-op, PACU, and Recovery phases in a well-equipped surgical environment located in Winston, OR. This contract role offers a dynamic rotation between Mercy Medical Center (MMC) and a sister ambulatory surgery center (ORSC), delivering diverse case experiences including General, GYN, Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Hand Surgery, Podiatry, Ophthalmology, ENT, and Endoscopy. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert nursing care in Pre-op, PACU, and ORSC Recovery units, responding to patient needs during all surgical phases. Rotate efficiently between multiple units: MMC Pre-op (8 beds), MMC PACU (4 beds), and ORSC Recovery (10 beds). Monitor patient vitals and interpret cardiac rhythms; initiate timely interventions for life-threatening arrhythmias. Collaborate with charge nurses, multidisciplinary teams, and support staff including medical assistants for smooth patient admissions and discharges. Utilize Meditech EMR at MMC, and both Meditech and paper charting systems at ORSC. Adhere to nurse-to-patient ratios: Pre-op 1:2, PACU 1:1 or 1:3, Recovery 1:2 or 1:3. Participate in orientation including general introduction, scavenger hunt, preceptorship, and continued buddy support until proficient. Qualifications & Desired Experience: Current RN licensure in Oregon or eligible for a 90-day emergency license (no OR license required at application). BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred. Proven experience in Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery nursing. Skilled at Meditech EMR and adaptable to mixed charting documentation. Competent in rhythm strip analysis and responding to critical events. Prior exposure to floating between units or facilities highly valued. Schedule & Shifts: Monday to Friday, with operating hours 0600 to 1800. 5 to 8-hour shifts with varied start times. Schedule managed by unit leadership; traveler flexibility appreciated.
