Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/20/2026 - Duration: 8 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 20, 2026 - Length: 8 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position on a Surgical unit at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring strong ortho/trauma surgical skills and a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience. Details - Work setting is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center known for complex, high-volume trauma cases - Assignment is on the 5B Surgical unit with a focus on ortho-surgical patients - 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week - Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month - Block scheduling is generally not approved - No on-call requirements Requirements - Active RN license — GA or Compact license required - Current BLS certification required - Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Med/Surg or ortho-surgical specialty in a comparable-size setting - Strong ortho/trauma surgical skills required - Experience in a high-acuity, high-volume hospital environment required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered - Proven ability to manage critical, fast-paced trauma situations - No RTO (time off requests) will be accepted for this assignment Additional Information - This facility is a Level 1 trauma center treating diverse, severe, and complex cases — candidates must be prepared for an intense, high-pressure work environment - Local candidates are accepted for this position - Skills checklist matching the Med/Surg or ortho-surgical specialty must be provided for consideration - Copies of certifications and active license verification required for consideration American Traveler Job ID P-689838.
