Practice Details

NICU Environment

• Level III NICU at Northside Hospital, Atlanta
• High-volume NICU/SCN with 1,400-1,500 annual admissions
• Medically complex, high-acuity neonatal population
• Strong hospital integration and expanding neonatal program

Clinical Responsibilities

• Management of critically ill and premature newborns
• Neonatal stabilization, treatment planning, and ongoing ICU care
• Collaborative clinical decision-making with multidisciplinary teams
• Evidence-based, individualized neonatal care delivery
• Participation in continuous NICU coverage and patient management
• Support for program growth and increasing patient demand

Team Structure

• Neonatologists (including dual-boarded genetics specialists)
• Pediatric intensivists
• Newborn nursery pediatricians
• Neonatal Nurse Practitioners
• Research nursing staff
• Multidisciplinary collaborative care model

Scheduling

• 24-hour NICU shifts
