Position Overview Siemens Advanta in North America is hiring akey individual to lead the Siemens Advanta North America Solutions Service LineStrategy and Transformation to an IoT Digital Transformation ProfessionalService organization. This senior leader will report to the Head of Advanta inthe US. This position will be responsible for leading the solutions serviceline leadership team and organization that is comprised of various competenciesincluding platform solutions, application innovation, data services andanalytics. The ideal candidate has astrong understanding of the IoT Digital Transformation Market, how to createand implement a Services Strategy around the market, has a deep understandingof the Professional Services business, and has an understanding of technicalIOT topics, cross industry experience and has a strong consulting background. The position will oversee the delivery of keyportfolio items. The portfolio will range from very large, complex projects ofvalue $5M+ in addition to high volumes of small to medium sized projectsranging from $20k to $5M. The Solutions Service Line Head will havestaff management responsibility of all service line managers - these servicelines include Platform, Data Analytics and Application development The leader for this organization must be achange agent and have past experiences in transforming a team to leverage newtechnologies & solutions. The Solutions Service Line Head will beexpected to work with a high degree of autonomy, and at the same time foster anenvironment of collaborations and synergy with other Siemens AdvantaLeaders. The Solutions Service Line Headwill need to plan up to 12 months in advance in relation to strategy,resourcing, budgets and the content of complex projects.-- Responsibilities
    • Ideal candidate would have had a similar leadership role in a professional services organization, along with past experiences working in an Industrial customer setting driving Digital projects including IOT, AI, ML and Cloud. They should have strong consulting & system integration skills that allow them to ensure that the team can develop the right offerings to support the vertical business
    • This position will be responsible for supporting the Vertical Solutions partners (Utilities, Building / Campus, Manufacturing) with the business development activities. This will require providing right support and capabilities throughout the sales process. This role will also require on creating client facing presentations and proposals to support the business development.
    • Sets strategic direction for the Solutions service lines based on market and industry trends to ensure aligned offerings. High focus around support Mfg, Utilties and Building/Campus space.
    • Lead the transformation of technical solutions that are delivered by the service lines
    • Manage the service line strategy and growth plan, identify and drive innovation to support the Vertical focus areas
    • Strong operational knowledge with clear understanding of how the PMO office can be leveraged to deliver complex projects developed by this team. Managing Utilization and profitability very closely.
    • Transform the capability of the service line resources in alignment with organizational growth from our key verticals with not only a mindset of re-tooling but also injecting new talent into the organization
    • Managing a portfolio of projects, consultancy, work packages and supporting tasks to achieve revenue, cost and customer satisfaction targets set
    • Drive the execution of high volumes of medium/high complex, undefined solutions require custom development. Often requiring interface with global counterparts to bring in IP from other regions
    • Manage the delivery of high volume change requests, resource requests and consultancy within the agreed solution area
    • Build the capability of the service lines teams with focus on creating new centers of competency that can support the vertical go to market
    • Defines, decides and ensures implementation of policies and guidelines in of the respective organizational unit in accordance with an overall Service Strategy from a commercial and technical point of view.
    • Ensures the implementation of corporate standards and guidelines in respective area of responsibility.
    • Ensures the achievement of the service lines business goals in cooperation with the regional Service organizations.
    • Guides and supports the management of internal interfaces to other business types (e.g. Product, Solution) and external interfaces (e.g. customers, suppliers).
    • Acts as ultimate point of escalation to drive sustainable solution of mission critical external and internal issues and problems.
    • Ensures providing necessary work environment, tools and processes to optimally deliver services to customers.
    • May have P&L responsibility for respective organizational reach. (Strong tie into supporting verticals to meet the OI targets
    • Heads overall organization assigned, and leads all related management and staff. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
      • 15+ years of relevant professional services management / business consulting experience in a global organization
      • 10+ years of people management experience, which includes the coaching and development of managers as well as overseeing an organization of 50+ employees. 10+ years of technical delivery experience, including a deep understanding of technical software delivery and distributed delivery.
      • 10+ years of customer facing experience, including identifying customer needs, developing solutions to meet those needs, managing customer relationships at the executive and management levels, and delivering projects on-time and on budget with high customer satisfaction.
      • Strong understanding of IOT related use cases and the technology that supports them. Experience working in Industrial setting around the convergence of OT and IT.
      • Strong balance between technical depth & business understanding.
      • Strong on key technology areas - Data Analytics, Cloud, AI/ML, Cyber, Edge, Connectivity, IOT platforms
      • Consulting industry experience is required focused on delivering transformative digital projects
      • Highly developed customer relations and service skills including the ability to effectively build relationships quickly and work in a collaborative manner with people at all levels.
      • Excellent written and communication skills, with an emphasis on being organized and documentation-oriented.
      • Distributed delivery experience across multiple regions and time zones.
      • Experienced with project management and delivering fixed scoped projects.
      • Proven experience with sales engineering, including negotiation skills.
      • Accomplished in planning abilities (both strategic and tactical).
      • Experience managing software delivery projects or accounts with budgets of $3-6M or larger.
      • Ability to quickly gain credibility as a strong, professional senior leader who can provide clear leadership for the Delivery Practices function.
      • Ability to navigate and analyze complex or ambiguous issues, using hypotheses driven approach to problem solving. Demonstrating strong decision-making capabilities, weighing the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identifying the most appropriate one.
      • Effective at influencing (and be influenced by) others to appropriately modify opinions, plans, or behaviors.
      • An ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in an easily-understood, impactful manner.
      • A leader with the ability to train and guide staff towards delivering successful business outcomes.
