The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Software Development Engineer for the Health Services Platform team, you will play an important role on an agile software development team, building best-in-class cloud-based software. You will use your full-stack software development skills and your strong knowledge of the cloud and AWS. You are an enthusiastic team player working with software engineers, architects, clinical and business analysts, automation engineers and other product team members and service teams. You will interact with customers to resolve problems. You must be comfortable working in an agile, fast-paced, team based, production environment with challenging deadlines and changing priorities. Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Perform analysis, programming, testing, documentation, and maintenance of browser-based applications and back-end services. Develop software products and services based on requirements, architecture, and design specifications. Work as part of an agile team, following and contributing to team design and coding standards. Coordinate and communicate effectively with other team members. Help resolve escalated customer support issues. Willingness to occasionally be on-call. Actively participate in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards complies with corporate policies and procedures, and act in a manner consistent with 3M's values and ethical standards. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in software development in lieu of the Bachelor's degree education requirement One (1) year of software development experience using C#, Java, or Python and associated development frameworks such as .NET Core MVC or Spring. (course work and internship experience considered) One (1) year of experience using web-based technologies (AJAX, HTML, CSS, JavaScript or frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue) - (course work and internship experience considered) Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Full-stack software development experience with object oriented programming e.g. C#, Java, C++, Python Certifications in public cloud services such as AWS or Microsoft Azure. Experience developing back end services Experience developing browser-based applications Experience with Angular, React, Vue Experience with widget toolkits such as PrimeFaces Experience with continuous integration and deployment systems (e.g. GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS Code) Experience using databases Experience with shell scripting languages (e.g. powershell, bash) Experience using test-first methodologies such as BDD or TDD. Experience with source code control systems such as Git, TFS, or SVN Health care industry experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to solve problems in a logical, methodical, and time efficient manner Strong leadership skills Highly self-directed and able to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent and competing or conflicting challenges and issues Travel: May include some travel Relocation Assistance: May be authorized Location: Remote Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
