ADP is hiring an Lead Application Developer - Java/Mainframe.--

Ready to design what's next?In this role, you will provide creative, technical and hands on expertise to implement high impacting solutions for the ADP Vantage HCM product. You will have an opportunity to work with modern technology stack and build next-gen solutions for ADP's cloud-based Vantage HR and Payroll solutions to help our customers save time, stay compliant, and manage costs. You will work with clients, product managers, architects, software engineers, and more to plan, design, develop, test, and implement impactful solutions that support companies with one to millions of employees. You will start your day on a scrum call to prioritize and track work. Within the team you work on, you will choose user stories to work within a sprint cycle. You will spend most of your day developing and testing your code. Every three weeks, you will be involved in the release activities.To thrive in this development career, you'll need to be an expert in analyzing Mainframe processes for enterprise-wide applications, ideally using IBM CICS technology. Also be an expert in Java (Java 8 preferred) and have a firm grasp on Spring Boot, Javascript, Angular and/or React. You'll need to be familiar with web services, RESTful APIs, and open source tools such as Apache KAFKA. Each sprint cycle could have a heavy front-end focus, a heavy back-end focus, or a mix of both, so you'll need experience working with front-end, scripting, and back-end technologies. You strive to learn new technologies and find ways to incorporate what you learn into building your products. As a Lead Developer, you will work closely with your team to lead and guide projects to success. You'll have a hands-on role designing, developing, debugging, and deploying software solutions where you can leverage your expertise with code complexities. You'll also serve as a mentor to the junior developers. In the lead role, you will balance the assigning of user stories through prioritization and consideration of the technical interests of each developer on the team. As a Lead Application Developer you will work in a development team setting to create responsive, scalable--and--robust web applications converting custom mainframe process/ rules engine to containerized microservices. Write and advise on high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code on the Cloud. Identify functional and non-functional requirements across the code, UI, services, and DB scripts. We'll start each day with a scrum, working together to understand responsibilities, identify issues, and communicate coding priorities. Our testers do more than build test and quality programs - they clearly communicate the intricacies and problems at hand.Variety of work. There is no typical day. You could be working on anything from supporting deployments to validating new features, product enhancements, or creating new test services. We're always learning new approaches, and you are comfortable learning as you go to find solutions. We're working on products with tech that hasn't been used before. Inevitable challenges will arise, and we'll rely on you to look for creative solutions. A--college--degree is great but not required.
