what you can expect on a typical day:
We'll start every day with a scrum,
working together to understand responsibilities, identify issues,
and communicate coding priorities. Collaboration and Communication.
You'll be the point person for developers and operations when they
need to find a solution quickly. You'll listen to their needs, find
a solution and share it. We're working on products with tech we
have never used before. Inevitable challenges will arise, and we'll
rely on you to look for a solution. We're always learning new codes
and investigating open source communities for best practices.
Knowing what questions to ask is more important than knowing the
right answers. Variety of work. Your experience building and
supporting large distributed systems in the hybrid cloud space will
allow you to balance this role's many priorities. You're the go-to
when things go wrong. You're always learning new services in AWS
and providing governance in terms of costs and compliance. You'll
be paged with production issues and expected to jump in to support
those changes as needed. A college degree is great but not
required. What's more important is having the skills and experience
to do the job. TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
Develop and maintain complex SQL
Develop and maintain complex PL/SQL Design and support application
and infrastructure upgrades Develop and maintain bash shell scripts
Develop scripts to copy data using Oracle data copy utilities
(Export, Data Pump, Golden Gate, SQL*Loader, etc) Create and
maintain cron jobs to audit database schemas Drive adoption of
cloud database solutions SQL & PL/SQL performance tuning and
optimization Analyze AWR reports to address bottle necks Contribute
to new Oracle implementation methods TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Must
Have
Oracle 19C+ Golden Gate Scripting

SQL PL/SQL Shell Scripting
Batch Scripting PowerShell Data Copy
utilities (Data Pump, SQL Loader, etc) RDBMS XML/JSON
NoSQL db models Splunk DB Cloud
solutions (AWS) Extra Credit:
Experience/knowledge with Windows,
Linux, and UNIXoperating systems and Red hat migration and storage
management Experience with application telemetry, monitoring and
alerting solutions (Splunk, CloudWatch or similar) Experience with
Cloud solutions i.e. AWS (VPC, EC2, S3, ECS, EKS, RDS, ALB/NLB)
Solid experience as a DB Engineer in a 24x7 uptime environment,
including automation experience with configuration management
