About this Position: -
The Technical Model Specialist is responsible for using engineering fundamentals to identify product quality problems in the market for Power Equipment product lines. Requires analysis of multiple data sources in detail (such as warranty claims, dealer information, manufacturing data, geographical, environmental etc.) to identify trends and problem indicators. Summarize and evaluate market data, make conclusions, and support next step direction in terms of problem analysis. Provide market quality information and technical support for assigned product lines to all levels of business management. Conduct warehouse and/or factory audits as well as new product evaluations. Act as technical liaison to publications group to identify service requirements and initiate dealer bulletins, as well as ensuring the accuracy of sales/service publications and completing timely reviews of routings. Interface with appropriate parts groups to ensure the accuracy of service parts catalog and inventory. Participate in specialized working group teams as required. Provide analysis and routine tracking and reporting of product quality concerns to Tech Line, Customer Relations, District Service/Sales Managers and Quality Center Management. - Interface with all related business technical functions to include Product Planning, R&D and Factory personnel. Participate in, as the service project leader, to provide improvement opportunities for new products as part of the business planning process. Product line responsibilities may vary based on business requirements.

  • - - - - - - Prompt and Accurate Field Service and Market Treatment
  • - - - - - - Conduct Product Quality Audits
  • - - - - - - Act as Technical Advisor for AH Internal Staff and Dealer Members
  • - - - - - - Develop Engineering Based Failure Forecast Models
  • - - - - - - New Product Evaluation
  • - - - - - - Service Project Leader - New Model Development -

    Who we are seeking:
    Required Work Experience:
  • - - - - - - 4+ years engineering experience
  • - - - - - - Solid working knowledge of outboard marine engines (including rigging) and/or Power Products, internal combustion engine operation/repairs, and precision measuring instruments
  • - - - - - - Strong root cause analysis and causal factor identification skills, including corrective and preventive action implementation
  • - - - - - - Basic working knowledge of Marine and Power Product dealership operations, quality engineering principles and government regulatory requirements as they relate to the marine business is a plus

    Required Education:
  • - - - - - - Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience in power product, auto, marine, or motorcycle industry
    Desired skills:
  • - - - - - - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • - - - - - - Ability to prioritize workload effectively and make sound decisions to support the team based on criticality of issues
  • - - - - - - Able to analyze warranty and sales data to investigate trends and predict failure rate
  • - - - - - - Proficient with MS Office tools, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • - - - - - - Excellent communication and presentation skills when dealing with all levels of personnel in the business
  • - - - - - - Thorough knowledge and application of 4-stroke engine technology
  • - - - - - - Hands-on skills in shop repair of power equipment products and measurement tools
  • - - - - - - Ability to plan and lead detailed repair and recall projects -
