As an Associate Director, DevOps Tools Engineering your responsibilities will include.

Leading the tools engineering team that enables the teams at TSYS to innovate, build and deliver products faster by providing highly scalable, robust, resilient and automated developer platform comprising of modern cloud enabled infrastructure and tools. This team enables software delivery at TSYS that is fast, secure and reliable and helps developers build and ship code by providing tools and services they can use.

This is a hands-on position and you should have a demonstrated track record of leading teams building secure, large scale, highly available services. You will be focused on improving the experience of teams that deliver product experiences to our customers.

You will be leading people and teams by supporting their development, managing various innovation initiatives and providing technical direction across a diverse team of automation engineers. Youll need the ability to dive deep, and have a hands on approach to the team and the underlying technology stack. Youll also need to have familiarity with open technologies and modern architectural approaches. Youll lead in an agile environment where leaders typically focus 20-30% of their time building a positive, energetic culture to keep momentum moving in a positive direction.

Some other things well expect:

  • Strong hands-on experience in devops automation engineering, designing and building automated processes, tools and pipelines that allow humans to focus on cool problems. Technologies: Jenkins, Nexus, Sonar, AWS Cloud Services, Bitbucket, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Prometheus, HAProxy and many more.
  • Youre comfortable in a role where you transition seamlessly between managerial activities and low level technical details, at times dropping into code to help the team meet its objectives while also keeping your skillset sharp.
  • Heavy exposure and implementation experience in modern technology, architecture and automation patterns.
  • Passion to build and foster good engineering practices and processes.
  • Ability to set direction, grow team members, set goals, prioritize and recruit talent, among others.
  • Experience working on large-scale, high volume applications
  • Rapid personal pace with ability to deliver and drive results
  • Strong mentoring capability and communication both verbal and written
  • Passion to build strong, self-sustaining engineering teams
  • Energetic, open and collaborative across all teams and roles

    To apply, youll need to have:


    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology or business information systems or related field
    • Extensive DevOps automation experience hands-on development.
    • Heavy exposure and implementation experience in modern technology, architecture and automation patterns.
    • Experience with designing, scaling and managing container orchestration systems.
    • Experience with CI/CD principles, architecture and operations.
    • Experience with instrumentation for monitoring and logging the health and availability of services.
    • 5 or more years experience in a technology focused managerial role with very clear leadership attributes ability to set direction, grow team members, set goals, prioritize and recruit talent, among others.
    • Fluent, open communication style speaking, writing, collaborating

      • Bachelor's Degree
      • Relevant Experience or Degree in: related field of study from an accredited university is required; however, relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
      • Typically a minimum of 8 years
      • related professional experience including a minimum of 3-4 years experience in a supervisory position.
