R&D Engineer to fulfill a technical role on an emerging R&D
team responsible for building a new growth platform of Intelligent
Enteral Feeding Technologies and focused on improving clinical and

technical leadership role in the development of new medical
devices, working cross functionally to define software system
architecture and ensuring that stakeholders are aligned, and needs

This Principal Embedded Software Engineer position will act as a
technical expert on a multi-year program to combine new, digital
health technologies with a product line that has a proven, clinical
track record of changing the standard of care for Digestive Health
needs within the acute care setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the Program leader, external partners, and
cross-functional teams to design innovative medical device
Translate customer and marketing requirements into product and
software specifications which can be successfully verified,
validated and launched.
Work to define and create collateral for new connected device
platforms; (SW/FW concepts study, Software Architecture)
Broad experience in embedded system development including FPGA
and/or microcontroller based designs.
Design product solutions - detailed software design, initial
board bring up and test, including driver bring up
Oversee unit testing and implement automated testing where
Strong technical understanding of software, firmware and
hardware interaction up to the OS level including RTOS.
Develop software/firmware/system module specifications
Generate test protocols and reports
Plan resources and provide schedule estimates
Master C/C++ and scripting languages like Python with Object
Familiarity of requirement management tools such as JAMA, agile
development tools such as Azure DevOps or JIRA
Apply version control best practices using tools like Git,
Hands on experience with standard lab equipment such as
oscilloscope, logic analyzer, JTAG and hardware debugging
Knowledge of hardware interfaces I2C, SPI, USB, UART,

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science,
Electrical Engineering or similar field; Masters preferred.
Flexibility to work in an Agile development model.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, problem solving, and
communication skills (both written and oral).
Ability to be a technical leader preferred.
