Position Summary

Job Description

Configuration/Release Engineer: Develops, analyzes and maintains tools that support and automate processes for hardware or software product release. Writes installation scripts and programs for installation of products. Works with project teams to determine an appropriate build schedule and then initiates the build and packaging process. Compiles and assembles software from source code. Ensures tools are stored in source control. Supports developers for software package registry and delivery. Works with others to complete analysis, evaluations and design alternatives and to implement process improvements. Works with development engineers to correct build errors.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Customize and support Source Management, Issue Management and Build tools to fit the organization's software development needs. Integrate and enhance functionality of Configuration Management, Build and Development tools Automate the Build and Delivery of software products developed in a heterogeneous Unix/Windows and Mac environment Serve as a central point of control for the various environments used to develop, test and deploy our applications. Be responsible for assembling the application components and executing the jobs necessary to support testing activities Create Reports and Metrics as needed Participate as needed in the 24/7 support of production lottery systems. Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

* 7+ years hands-on experience in a heterogeneous Release Engineering environment. * Direct 2+ years' experience with a few of the following source code control tools: TFS, CVS, VSS, Subversion, Team Foundation, GIT. * Experience with at least 2 Issue Tracking tools such as Jira, Rally, Clear Quest. * 5+ years using scripting languages for automation and other purposes. These can include ksh, bash, VBScript, Perl, PowerShell, Windows bat/cmd. * Experience with automation tools that can include Jenkins, TFS Build, Nexus, Chef. * Knowledge of formal SDLC methodologies and quality standard and models. * Ability to interact with all levels of staff, organize and prioritize multiple assignments and use initiative to accomplish results.
