What does a great Senior Systems Engineer do at
This role is focus on addressing the hot/tactical/engineering
issues that are impacting the ongoing integration activities within
Fiserv Technology Services (FTS).
We need proactive problem preventers that are inquisitive
and analytical and an infrastructure system all star.
You are the kind of person who likes to understand anomalies,
characteristics and patterns. You’ll use cool tools like
Moogsoft, Splunk, Extrahop, and Foglight.
You'll have a broad range of traditional and cloud based
infrastructure, such as Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, AIX),
middleware & integrations technologies, and databases. You’ll
have experience with client facing, high volume transactional
systems that must be highly available and “always on”.

You are the kind of person who can:
Build holistic visibility into SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs, dependency
graphs, performance of software, network, and system to ensure that
we can continue to scale without increasing operational burden or

Enable the adoption and implementation of cloud-based application
reliability, resiliency, and observability /deployment best
practices for production & non-prod environments including public
cloud migration of our mission critical applications from the

Experience designing and implementing infrastructure automation
API’s using interface .
Define roadmap and architecture based on technology and business
Strong understanding of TCP/IP network concepts including bridging,
switching, routing & DNS.
Experience working with one or more CNI provider
Understanding of continuous integration concepts and tooling,
preferably with hands on experience using and integrating such
pipelines with source code and container image scans etc.
Demonstrated understanding of Cybersecurity threats and mitigating
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
Basic qualifications for consideration:
Bachelors Degree or High School/GED Diploma
Minimum 4+ years of data center infrastructure (OS, Network,
Storage, Middleware, Database)
Experience with high level programming languages (Python,
Go, Java, etc.)
Experience working with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS,
Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, etc.)
Experience designing, debugging and running fault tolerant
large-scale distributed systems
Experience with creating and improving documented procedures
Preferred qualifications for consideration:
• Knowledge of open-source configuration, orchestration,
and CI/CD tools.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, PCF and/or PKS.
• Experience with tools &
technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, Dynatrace,
Splunk and Moogsoft is a plus.
