What does a great Business Systems, Analyst do?
In this role, you will be a critical member of a fast-paced,
entrepreneurial software development team responsible for creating
custom add-ons for our core banking software (DNA™) to maximize
value for our Credit Union and Bank clients, and for creating
integrations to allow our clients to use their preferred ancillary
banking software products together with our core system. This role
includes frequent direct contact with our clients and our
You will assist with the software development and support
process by defining and documenting software requirements and
reviewing the developed software to ensure that it functions
correctly, meets our software development standards and will
fulfill our customers' requirements. Work directly with our clients
throughout the software development, delivery and support life
cycle as needed to ensure client satisfaction. Assist as needed
with other activities relating to our team’s ability to effectively
meet our clients’ needs.
In the role, you can expect to:
Work with Financial Institution (Banks and Credit Unions)
clients to clearly define and document their requests.
Assist with diagnosis/troubleshooting of reported problems
pertaining to software developed by the department.
Determine how to best implement the requested changes /
customization. This may include working with Development staff,
Product Managers, QA staff and / or other Business Systems
Create business requirements documentation / programming
specifications with sufficient detail to enable application
developers to complete the programming request and the Financial
Institution to understand how it meets their business needs.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) / mentor to development
staff during the development phase of the project.
Ensure that the final user documentation effectively conveys the
information our clients need to know about the software.
Test / validate developed software to ensure that the completed
product matches with the business requirements and operates
Deliver software to clients or our Data Center and assist with
questions that may arise relating to the installation,
configuration, or successful operation of the software.
Assist with ongoing improvement initiatives; for instance -
review and improvement of pre-existing application
Use your retail banking background to assist Financial
Intuitions with formalizing their business requirements.
Basic Qualification for Consideration:
Four-year college degree or equivalent relevant experience
5 or more years' business experience within the Retail Banking
and / or Credit Union industries.
Experience with software testing and validation methods.
Experience with creating and executing test plans.
Experience with software problem research methods.
Have a working knowledge of consumer banking deposit related
operations including ACH, In-clearing, Deposit Interest Posting and
Preferred Qualifications for Consideration:
Familiarity with the Fiserv DNA core banking system.
Familiarity with account / product design and implementation
Familiarity with Graphical User Interface design principles
including Cards Based user interfaces
Understanding of SQL and experience with creating SQL
Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
since this position requires extensive communication with technical
and non-technical audiences.
Highly motivated with the ability to work independently as well
as in a team.
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work
Must be detail oriented, and an innovative thinker, as many of
the programming requests are for new capabilities.
Travel Required: Very limited travel, up to 5%.
