Equifax is looking for an experienced Data Steward Leader to join our world-class Global Identity and Fraud Analytics team. In this exciting role, you will act within a data stewardship capacity working with large data sets of consumer transaction and interaction data. You will be applying your data stewardship, governance and business analytical skills to improve data quality initiatives and enhance data processing capabilities for faster insights generation. You will serve as a thought leader and provide direction for data governance, including data lineage, metadata, data quality, data remediation and issue management. What You'll Do

  • Contributor/Merchant Onboarding - Assist with initial kick off and file layout reviews with contributors. Work to ensure proper incorporation of the data into Equifax assets and technologies; Assist with file validations during testing; Review metrics and monitoring reports to ensure the new contributor data is on track and fulfills data quality requirements. Assist business stakeholders in the communication of data issues with contributors for resolution

  • Data Onboarding - Develop and document data schemas, data lineage and metadata dictionaries. Manage the data pipelines that support the automated ingestion of the data into production and analytic environments; Act as SME of data assets to stakeholders and develop training materials and user guides for the analysts on the data structure and usage

  • Data Quality - Design and implement data quality measures and implement ongoing processes to track quality across the data touch points. Proactively monitor data quality and research issues for size, breadth and impact

  • Data Governance - Oversee the access and usage of the data set to ensure all regulatory and customer specific agreements are not in violation; Oversee and support the data asset custodian access management process


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information management, finance, statistics, analytics, engineering or related field

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in process development within a data management environment

  • Highly proficient with a minimum of 7+ years of experience with data handling/quality tools (SAS, SQL, DataStage/InfoSphere, DataLever/RedPoint DM, Spotfire, Tableau or other industry-standard tools)

  • Strong proficiency with 5+ years of SQL experience with ability to run ad hoc queries and conduct analysis

  • Experience working with Data Schemas and Data formats such as JSON, Parquet, AVRO etc.

Extra Points for any of the Following

  • Experience with Big Data and Cloud environments highly valued

  • Experience working in a Agile DataOps environment

  • Strong understanding of data protection and privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA etc.

  • Exposure to data governance and discovery tools such as Collibra and BigID a plus

  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
