Overview

The claims clerk performs various support functions for the Operations department that include, but are not limited to those listed in the essential job functions section below. This is a great entry- level position for a candidate who is interested in a career path with a growing company.



Responsibilities

  1. Indexing claims documents by identifying and routing them appropriately through an imaging system
  2. Operate a variety of office equipment, including computers with dual monitors, printers, copy machines, and Rightfax

Other tasks as assigned by management



Qualifications

  • 6 months experience in an insurance claims department or related experience
  • Basic understanding of business technology, practices and professionalism
  • Experience conducting high volume indexing or data entry
  • Types at least 35 WPM
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and meet production guidelines
  • Logically process technical information in order to research, identify and route claims documents accurately
  • Proven organization and detail-oriented skills
  • Ability to learn new procedures quickly and adapt to a changing environment
  • May require occasional evening and/or weekend work

Preferred:

Experience in Insurance environment
