Division Information

The Home & Garden business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. We are a leading supplier of consumer products nationally for the home, lawn and garden, insect and weed control markets. Job Summary

The Sales Operation Manager will work in collaboration with and under the direction of the sales management team to support The Home Depot business. The area of focus for this role will include analytics and operational activities supporting a portfolio of brands, products, promotional plans and business development objectives.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Executional (40%)

  • Analyze supply chain to develop and present programs that focus on not only Spectrum Brands efficiencies, but overall customer efficiencies
  • Manage daily and weekly communication to The Home Depot on current and future supply chain status
  • Conduct and present account operation reviews
  • Attend customer meetings as appropriate
  • Coordinate with sales team and demand planning to determine account level sales forecasts
  • Maintain current knowledge of market transportation conditions and trends and collaborate with Spectrum and The Home Depot supply chain

Strategic (20%)

  • Develop strategies and programs that achieve the sales objectives of The Home Depot and Spectrum Brands
  • Build collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization to facilitate growth objectives
  • Engage with all cross-functional business partners to recommend opportunities to meet and exceed all Channel Management objectives, based on knowledge of the customer

Analytical (40%)

  • Analyze customer POS, inventory, and market data to develop plans that drive sales and market share growth
  • Weekly reporting to support the development of sales programs and replenishment strategies
  • Ability to understand and leverage supply chain data to drive sales results across the portfolio
  • Maintain focus on an OMNI approach to the business, leveraging e-commerce business partners as needed

Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years in retail field sales and direct account responsibility
  • A minimum of 2-4 years' work experience in consumer products industry is preferred
  • Expertise in Consumer Packaged Goods environment is preferred

Required Skills

  • Experience working with THD Vendor Drill
  • Experience in SAP
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Forecast experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
  • Strong project management skills with acute attention to details
  • Experience working on a seasonal business is preferred
  • Clear sense of urgency
  • Possesses creativity and passion to deliver actionable recommendations on the business
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter within a team setting

Work Environment

Ability to travel as needed
