What does a great Software Development Engineer do?

As a Software Development Engineer, you can look forward to:
Contribute across the entire development cycle (analysis,
design, code, test, initial pilot/production launch, and production
support) with the primary focus on analysis, solution design,
development and implementations of the applications. Assist in
project design, development and deployment activities. Ability to
solve problems that require extensive data gathering,
investigation, review, and analysis to define the problem and then
develop/implement solutions which requires the use of complex
analytical techniques and innovative thinking. Analyze, design, and
debug applications as needed; troubleshoot and maintain existing
code base and systems as needed. Ability to read, understand, and
interpret complex business and technical designs; must be able to
discuss or explain data with others, internal or external to
Fiserv, including clients. Knowledge of and ability to design, plan
and execute application testing strategies and tactics to ensure
software quality throughout all stages of application development.
Understanding of the importance of striving toward a zero defect
production goal and ability to establish methods and metrics that
deliver targeted standards for products and services. Knowledge of
major products, services, product groups and production application
systems used for delivery of services to internal and external
clients; ability to leverage said applications for use in diverse
situations; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to
diverse situations. Knowledge of the computer software products,
vendors, technologies, issues, and trends and directions. General
responsibilities and objectives are assigned with considerable
latitude for defining actions and setting priorities.
Basic qualifications for consideration:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,
or equivalent engineering or technical disciplines required. 2+
years’ experience in full stack software development using the WINS
solution. Excellent and proven communication skills (written and
verbal) and interpersonal skills. Exceptional ability to multi-task
and priorities. Excellent organizational and time management
skills. Experience with WINS solutions stack required (Windows
Server, IIS, .Net, SQL Server). Experience with Agile\Scrum
Software Development Life Cycle methodologies. Technical Skills:
HTML .Net Framework | SQL Server | Entity Framework
Preferred qualifications for consideration:
Knowledge of OWASP top 10 Awareness with Cyber Security
protocols, scanning and remediation Experience with Team Foundation
