Our GPS Technology Organization is a structure within the US GPS practice that implements and maintains a new operate and technology model designed specifically to support U.S. defense and Government engagements.

The opportunity

As the Information Security Governance Manager, you'll lead a team responsible for the creation of information security policies, standards, and guidelines (PSGs) as well as insuring staff awareness through training and other communication channels. EY's GPS business unit follows EY's internal information security PSGs and must do so in such a manner as to satisfy its various government requirements. You'll also lead a team that carries out the oversight and planning for the security program and the systems it oversees. As such, you'll have the chance to make an impact on careers by providing training, development and performance related feedback.

Specifically, GPS supports NIST SP 800-37 while using appropriate controls and maturity processes from NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, and the Dept. of Defense's (DoD's) Cybersecurity Maturity Model. This includes risk management processes and reporting at the system, customer, and program level.

Your key responsibilities

  • Leading a team of information security professionals with a wide range of responsibilities dedicated to support of US Government and Public sector customers

  • Translating recommendations from domain professionals, vendor and industry standards, guidelines and leading practices into high-quality, coherent information security policies, standards, and guidelines

  • Harmonizing content of IS documents and materials with other EY policies and standards, NIST security requirements, the DoD's Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide, as well as information security regulatory requirements

  • Collaborating with Information Security, Information Technology, Data Protection, and Legal teams

  • Identifying and requiring appropriate information security training for all GPS staff. Overseeing and supporting the development of documentation, training, and training materials for internal business users, IT professionals, and EY leaders

  • Supporting the writing and editing of proposals as needed

Skills and attributes for success

  • Ability to organize, structure and prioritize information from various sources

  • Ability to appropriately balance needs of GPS Information Security with business and technological risks and business impact

  • Ability to think creatively while accounting for multiple perspectives in any given scenario

  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal direct supervision

  • Focused on how to best convey information clearly and concisely

  • Experience working in information security and understanding of information security concepts

  • Knowledge of information security policies / principles of handling and protecting information

  • In-depth understanding of NIST security documentation such as FIPS and 800 Series publications and their application.

  • In-depth understanding of DFARS related security requirements and their application.

  • General technical knowledge of operating systems, databases, networks, mobile technologies and cloud services

  • Strong English language skills are required - written and verbal

  • Good writing, presentation, interpersonal, and collaborative skills

  • Skilled in executive level presentations and briefings

  • Experience managing communication with internal customers

  • Ability to collaborate with others to facilitate and enhance compliance with policies

  • Maintain awareness of the current security threat landscape

  • Experience with coordinating tasks, allocating resources, and following tasks and projects through completion

  • High degree of cultural and emotionalintelligence, and demonstratedaptitude for resilience, flexibility, andability to adapt to changingcircumstances and dynamics

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

To qualifyfor theroleyou must have

  • Degree in information assurance, computer science, or a similar technical field

  • Must hold a CISSP, CISM, or CCISO certification

  • Demonstrated expereince with managing a team

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Security clearance level

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Experience leading a team of individual contributors responsible for a broad set of information security requirements

  • Experience in creating and maintaining appropriate measures for an information security program in a highly audited environment

  • Experience developing, implementing and maintaining Information Security policies, standards, and guidelines, and involvement with developing and delivering information security awareness programs
