The role

Provide compliance leadership, analysis, and recommendations to accomplish business objectives and strategic initiatives, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations all with an extensive knowledge of legal, business and other factors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer in drafting materials for the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team Members, including the Management Compliance Oversight Committee.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of healthcare compliance and privacy requirements and ethical decision-making in resolving a high volume of complex matters that are critical to the Corporation typically involving significant sums of money or serious legal or other consequences.
  • Work across functions to proactively implement and manage the elements of an effective compliance program, including drafting and maintain policies and processes, managing communications, assisting with investigations and training, coordinating audits, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in management of the Company Compliance Program, including its Privacy Program.
  • Inspire confidence and trust, make practical recommendations to business partners that strike the appropriate risk/reward balance, and be accountable for delivering business results.
  • Keep informed of pertinent changes to healthcare compliance requirements, anticipate issues that may arise from such changes and demonstrate initiative and creativity in developing business-oriented solutions
  • Provide compliance guidance on Sales and Marketing programs, commercial agreements, and other business initiatives or transactions.
  • Communicate fully in an open and candid manner with superiors, peers, and others who have a need to know and as a representative of the Corporation in public.
  • Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve business results.

Your qualifications


  • A Bachelor's degree or its non-U.S. equivalent and a minimum of 4-6 years of experience at a medical device, pharmaceutical, or other healthcare organization required (advanced degree, including MBA, JD, or equivalent, preferred); background in healthcare compliance, human resources, finance, sales and marketing, or medical affairs would be a plus;
  • Experience in drafting and revising policies or processes, particularly in healthcare compliance or similar industry;
  • Experience preparing compliance reports for senior management, the Board of Directors, and external audiences preferred;
  • Experience with FDA advertising and promotion rules and processes, global value transfer and transparency reporting, global anti-kickback, anti-trust, and anti-bribery laws preferred;
  • Experience in Global Privacy compliance, including but not limited to GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA, preferred; and
  • Familiarity with the medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech industry and the compliance issues it faces strongly preferred.


  • The ability to deal with complex and important healthcare compliance issues on all subjects impacting the operation of the business;
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills, and excellent ability to analyze complex matters and present them simply and clearly;
