What does an exceptional Software Development Engineer in Test do?

As a Senior Software Development Engineer of Test, you will be a part of a small but growing team of hardworking people that are the primary driver for raising the quality of our products and services. Drive quality and excellence through a detailed and relentless approach to automation. This POS product testing team provides full testing services for solutions and products we offer to our clients. Our focus on this team is to provide the quality/certification of software applications on the digital disbursement platform and their integration to the acquiring platform. We are involved in performing automated and manual tests to ensure that the software created is fit for payment processing. We participate in every step of the software development process, provides quality from start to end, and participates additionally in the generation of test data, automating the test functions in continuous integration and continuous delivery.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, you can look forward to:

  • Executing manual and automated regression tests.

  • Diagnosing failures across a complex integration environment.

  • Working with development to scope and test new features.

  • Reviewing quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.

  • Creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases

  • Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating quality testing activities as part of an agile development team.

  • Setting, maintaining, and performing test automation frameworks on application platforms and build test scenarios and acceptance tests.

  • Applying testing processes for new and existing products to meet user needs.

  • Coordinating with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.

  • Working with deployments teams, resolving level issues for systems, coordinate on product design, and offer inputs on the testability of functional elements and product designs.

  • Coordinating with distributed testing teams to ensure release deadlines are met.

  • Updating Java-based test frameworks to accommodate changes and new features.

  • Creating and maintaining Jenkins pipelines and jobs to manage automation tasks.

  • Identifying testing gaps and strategies for filling those gaps.

  • Writing and executing automated test code for native apps leveraging the latest open-source packages and technologies.

  • Writing functional, integration, and customer workflows (end-to-end) automation to validate product functionality and integration with dependencies.

  • Developing, updating, and executing software test plans, automated frameworks and programs.

  • Planning and carrying out performance, load, and stress tests.

  • Participating in design, architecture, and code reviews.

  • Implementing, executing, and debugging automated test scripts using various technology and tools.

  • Demonstrating proficiency in writing technical documentation.

  • Working within an agile development process from a team workflow perspective.

  • Implementing test automation frameworks within a continuous integration and delivery pipeline.

  • Analyzing functional requirements and development stories into automated validation.

  • Leading automation efforts and share best practices in test automation with the company.

Basic Qualifications for consideration:

  • Bachelors required, degree in CIS, MIS, EE, or other related technical degree is preferred.

  • 4-7 years of QA and/or Software Development experience.

  • Experience writing automated test scripts in Python, JavaScript, or Java.

  • Experience testing with REST API calls.

Preferred Qualifications for consideration:

  • Industry Certifications in Quality Assurance, Agile Scrum, or Public Cloud.

  • Experience with Rest Assured, Karate, Junit, or Jmeter.

  • Good understanding of security concepts OAuth2, JWT, multi factor.

  • Familiarity with popular DevOps technologies such as Git, Jenkins, Maven, and Jira.

  • Experience working with cloud computing technologies, e.g. – AWS.

  • Hands-on experience in point-of-sale tools hardware and software.

  • Experience working with e-commerce, shopping cart, or payment service gateways.

  • Experience with Payments Tokenization, Cryptography, Cloud, ISO messaging, payments API, Processing, Network (Visa/MC/Discover/Amex) experience.
