Job Description:

Emerald is seeking a Marketing Manager to support our Kitchen & Bath team, including the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and Kitchen & Bath Business magazine (KBB). Our Kitchen & Bath brands showcase the latest industry products, trends and technologies to engage the residential design market with an annual tradeshow, monthly magazine, and additional digital content.

With strategic direction from the Marketing Director and Show Director, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for implementing strategies designed to enable sales, drive audience acquisition and demonstrate ROI for these products within our Design & Construction portfolio. You will assist in developing marketing strategy for each event aligned with Emerald’s business objectives to ensure event success and excellence in marketing execution. You will also develop, produce, and evaluate a variety of marketing materials, while ensuring consistency among messages, and effectiveness of content.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced event marketer with a solid understanding of trade event planning, execution and measurement best practices. You’ll bring solid strategic project management experience and organizational skills, with the ability to manage budgets, coordinate junior staff, and manage complex, simultaneous schedules with an impeccable attention to detail. In our team environment it’s also essential that you be able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including executive management, to achieve business goals.


  • Demonstrated ability to craft, edit and proof integrated marketing content; distribute marketing materials, including traditional and digital brochures, flyers and direct mail; copywriting for email blasts, direct mail, telemarketing and automated voice mail scripts, and websites; development of promotional videos, brand engagement campaigns, all with an ultimate goal of driving attendee acquisition across all events.
  • Lead social media and content marketing initiatives including planning and execution of all social/digital activities, and overarching content strategy with external partner. Drive momentum, engagement, reach and attendance for measurable results with our target audiences across digital and influencer channels; develop reports showing ROI on daily activities using social media reporting tools.
  • Development of digital advertising strategy, and work with partners to manage optimization and day-to-day aspects of the company’s paid channels including SEM, display, retargeting, and paid social media advertising.
  • Project management, including but not limited to budget management, vendor sourcing and management, project plan management, event promotion and assistance with registration as necessary, on-site event management, prioritization and issue escalation.
  • Manage tracking databases and assist with analysis of performance of marketing tactics and campaigns to determine effectiveness.
  • Act as primary liaison for Registration Operations on registration set-up and timelines for each show to capture attendee registration data.
  • Analyze event, industry and competitive data. Utilize meaningful and relevant data to improve effectiveness and efficiency of events.
  • Maintain event websites through edits, updates and SEO (done in conjunction with Digital Services team).

  • 5+ years of integrated marketing experience across both traditional and digital channels
  • Tradeshow and/or conference planning experience is a huge plus
  • Experience copywriting for marketing promotions, including e-mail and direct mail
  • Experience with CRM and email automation tools; working knowledge of Pardot and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a plus
  • Social Media and/or Public Relations experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and marketing performance knowledge
  • Expertise in finding and managing media partnerships
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
