Job Description:

The Field Compensation positions primary function is to design and execute compensation strategies that reduce vacancy, while optimizing cost. Field refers specifically to all non-corporate, driver and non-driver employees who work on sites. Compensation refers specifically to base and incentive / bonus compensation, but commensurate with experience may expand to include benefits, as well.

As this will be the companys first exclusively compensation-dedicated position, the successful candidate will have immense opportunity commensurate with experience to assess, establish, manage, and build out all end-to-end aspects of the field compensation function. Given the functions nascency and the positions broad scope of responsibility, the successful candidate will need to be an autonomous, entrepreneurial, self-starter.

The Company is committed to building out this field compensation function and, as such, is prepared to support the successful candidate by providing Analyst resources. These Analyst resources would be intended to provide leverage via data and financial, analytics and modeling.



Primary Responsibilities:

Field Compensation Strategies

Establish and manage best practices for field compensation strategies; train and support Operations on when and how to employ each strategy, tailored to site-specific needs.

Existing Sites

Establish and manage end-to-end methodology and processes for: starting base field compensation, incentive / bonus field compensation, annual base field compensation increases, and extraordinary field compensation increases.

Prospective Sites

Determine appropriate assumptions for field compensation cost components of bid specifications.

Business Intelligence

Establish and manage, systematic and scalable approach to gathering, monitoring, analyzing, and communicating actionable insights from market and internal field compensation and related data.

Budgeting

Determine appropriate assumptions for field compensation cost components of quarterly and annual budgets and reforecasts at site, regional, and consolidated levels.

Impact Tracking

Establish and manage, systematic and scalable approach to tracking impact and evaluating effectiveness of all meaningful field compensation decisions.



The successful candidate will ideally, but not necessarily, have the following background:

1. Experience as an HR / Compensation, or related, professional.

2. Demonstrated track record of designing and implementing compensation strategies / structures that drive measurable organizational and/or financial impact.

3. Yard management services and solutions and/or broader trucking industry experience, particularly as relates to compensation.
