Job Description:

In this role, you will coordinate, support and/or track the work activities of risk underwriters that support the sales organization and risk management team. Assigned projects include initiatives such as, managing new business opportunities submitted for consideration, productivity reporting and analysis and planning site events. The role is a liaison for various departments and business units in order to develop project plans and effectively implement new initiatives. Effective team management and communication skills are vital to be successful in the role. Evaluate prospects/clients for acceptance into ADP TotalSource with emphasis on workers' compensation at a National level; Approve or disapprove those prospects based on established criteria. This position is the ultimate gatekeeper of all risk selection. Management of Underwriting activities that support the client selection process as well as claims, SUI, Credit, Benefits, and HR guidelines; Underwriting provides continuous monitoring of the client base; Gather statistics of activities; Keeps the UW unit focused on Production underwriting goals as well as Loss Ratio goals. Ensure client's needs regarding WC/EPLI/COIs are consistently met. Respond effectively and efficiently in order to improve relationships with our sales team as well as our ADP TotalSource clients. This position is 100% decision making for Risk selection and problem solving. A strong knowledge of workers' compensation issues is required. The ability to make timely decisions considering numerous variables under heavy pressure is another crucial requirement as well as being able to take the responsibility for all decisions made within the department. This is a "gatekeeper" role for other groups within TS (SUI, legal, benefits, etc), making sure all their requirements are met before granting final approval of prospects. Duties also include pricing modifications, recommendations, and adjustments with Financial Executives and General Managers within each region regarding individual prospects.
