ADP is hiring a Principal Software Engineer

In this role, you will work within a scrum team to bring the designs and ideas to life for a new platform for developing and running modern and impactful applications that enable our sales & marketing teams to excel. You will work with clients, product managers, architects, software engineers, and more to plan, design, develop, test, and implement impactful solutions that drive new sales for the company. You will start your day on a scrum call to prioritize and track work. Within the team you work on, you will choose user stories to work within a sprint cycle. You will spend most of your day developing and testing your code. To thrive in this development career, you'll need to be an expert in modern JavaScript and Node.js (> = v16 preferred) and have a firm grasp on React and/or Stencil.js for building scalable and responsive, modern frontend applications. You will need to be familiar with web services, RESTful APIs and open source standards such as Open API and OAuth/OpenID Connect. Experience with deploying to and consuming services from AWS will be useful. Each sprint cycle could have a heavy frontend focus, a heavy back-end focus, or a mix of both, so you'll need experience working with front-end, scripting, and back-end technologies.     • You'll start each day with a scrum, working in a team to understand responsibilities, identify issues, and communicate coding priorities while choosing user stories to complete. You will also participate in other agile ceremonies, including scheduled sprint demos, where you will present your work to up to 90 stakeholders.

    • Influence and inspire confidence. You are comfortable presenting to senior leaders, product owners, and peers with a compelling voice that you demonstrate through executive presence, leading change, and creating clear executive-level communications on milestone achievements.
    • You have 12+ years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
      • You'll have a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent.Experience leading development of frontend applications using HTML, CSS and modern JavaScript, tools and frameworks, e.g. React, Stencil, Vue, Angular, TypeScript, and backend applications using Node.js.Experience working with a variety of database systems including both SQL and no SQL such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Amazon DynamoDB.Experience working with AWS services for application delivery such as Elastic Container Services, Lambda, Aurora.
      • Knowledge of container deployment and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker.Ability to understand high level technical and business requirements and turn them into working software that uses industry standard patterns and is performant, scalable, reliable and secure.Ability to give technical direction to other team members through design sessions, PR reviews and general feedback.Experience with building cross-application integrations using RESTful APIs, OpenAPI, OAuth & OpenID Connect.
