Uniforms are providedAbout the Patient Care Coordinator RoleVillage Podiatry Centers is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and driven Patient Care Coordinator to assist our physicians in delivering complex health services in the clinic setting. This person will work in our Alpharetta, GA office location (s) and will be responsible for greeting patients in a friendly manner, accurately checking in and checking out patients so they are prepared for their current and/or follow up appointment, assisting with medical claim creation, verification, and authorizations, and other clinical and administrative tasks to ensure a quality patient experience.Patient Care Coordinator ResponsibilitiesGreet and check-in patients, verify and update necessary information in the medical records/database, perform all registration functions and collect copays and balances due as appropriateSchedule patients via office scheduling policies and confirm appointment times as well as educate patients on the impactful services of Village Podiatry.Answer and screen in-bound calls, take messages, and provide appropriate information to patients as well as handling outgoing phone calls (e.g., appointment confirmations, referral calls, pre-certs, etc.)Check and disseminate faxes dailyAssist with charge entry, and /or coding issues, and other related work if requestedAccurately and concisely document patient feedback and special needs to our clinicians to provide excellent care during each appointmentExplain and communicate Village Podiatry's services in an informational, influential, concise, uplifting, and personable manner with outstanding etiquetteManage daily on-time appointment schedules and effectively communicate this with physiciansMaintain office supply inventory, including checking, ordering, and stocking suppliesSupport practices' coordinated care approach when appropriateContribute to team effort by assisting with additional duties and when support is requestedPatient Care Coordinator QualificationsPrevious experience handling patient interactions or assisting in a healthcare clinic or hospital settingKnowledge and/or familiarity with medical billing and coding is highly preferredExperience working in a podiatric or orthopedic practice is plusAn exceptional customer service orientation featuring empathetic, compassionate, and professional demeanor with each interactionTenacious problem solver, with demonstrated capacity to embrace complex problems and arrive at effective solutions in a timely mannerEnjoys working in a team-based environment with active collaborationMust be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skillsStrong written communication skills with success in providing notes, updates, and written communications via computer systemsExperience working in an EMR is preferred, athenahealth is a plusDemonstrated experience as a motivated and dedicated team member with a stable work historyCompensationCompensation is commensurate to compensation for similar positions in the region and based on prior training and experience.Job Type: Full-timenIe9fbQ8cK
