Position Overview
The role of Salesforce Business Analyst is to deliver and support reporting and analytics initiatives across the business unit. This includes designing best-practice solutions, leading to smarter, data-driven decision making while working with program managers to enhance process performance. The Business Analyst will understand technical aspects of databases and data warehouses, data infrastructure frameworks, data mining tools, data integration and collection, and appropriate analytic and visualization approaches.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop and test reporting solutions using various tools and platforms to develop, measure, track, and report on key performance metrics and ROI
Work with program management, as their business intelligence leader, to propose and develop enhanced reporting and dashboards to provide continual program improvement
Consolidate and deliver data reports to help drive data-based strategic decision making
Validate data, daily, through cooperation from team members and regular spot checks
Guide the business, serving as subject matter expert and thought leader, through the resolution of complex reporting and analysis problems by leveraging an analytic mindset to develop visualization of key trends and insights for decision making
Partner with other technology teams to influence, maintain and effect changes to existing reporting systems and applications and act as key liaison between the business unit and software development teams
Develop optimal business intelligence strategies to satisfy short and long term business needs
Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved within predefined timelines
Identify issues, analyze available data and information and recommend changes to management
Design process/system improvements to automate process flow, enhancing productivity
Provide analytical support of actual results against budget and feasibility of proposed business strategies
Work with Ops / IT after requirements have been completed to ensure that the project is launched according to project goals / expectations
Potentially work directly with program leadership and MS finance/payroll to reconcile employee commissions
Create and maintain documentation
Additional job duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements:
Strong general business and industry acumen with the passion and curiosity to gain an active understanding of the client's business (wants to be involved with, and be a partner to, the sales team)
Passion for using data to effectively support business needs by analyzing existing reports and making changes as requested by users
Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and be comfortable dealing with changing priorities and timelines
Must be able to understand data and transform it into analytics, often in the absence of documentation, through data profiling, interviews, and reverse-engineering
Must be a motivated self-starter with a pro-active "can-do" attitude, who can work independently, but also seeks out opportunities to work collaboratively with others
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience working directly with senior business leaders to understand objectives and articulate the value of business intelligence solutions
Ability to interact with user community to gather requirements and transform it into requirement documents
Strong attention to detail, especially for purposes of ensuring accurate reporting and presentation and formatting of reports in a professional manner
Have an analytical mindset; able to think through the data before creating reports
Proficient with MS Excel including sorting, filtering, pivots, charting, macros and Power Pivot. Knowledge of the Excel add-in Data Analysis Tools is a plus
Good working knowledge of web based data collection and reporting tools, WebFocus preferred or other similar self-service BI products
2-4 years of experience in Salesforce.com report development preferred
2-4 years of experience querying large scale Data Warehouse Environments and working with multi-table joins and data aggregation
2-4 years of experience automating and managing reports, dashboards, and supporting self-service tools
Bachelor Degree in Information Technology is a plus
