The Senior Category Manager provides sourcing and category management for Consulting & Business Services categories. Responsible for establishing sourcing strategies and leading sourcing events at a global and / or regional level. Developing and implementing category strategies in partnership with sourcing and contract specialists. In addition, this person is accountable for partnering closely with business unit and functional leaders to identify opportunities, align on sourcing and category strategies, and deliver tangible results. Key Responsibilities Work closely with corporate and operational business executives to lead all sourcing related activities, driving significant value for the businessDevelop forward looking sourcing strategies in alignment with category strategies to gain insights and identify opportunities for improvementResearch industry trends for awareness of opportunities, evolving supplier capabilities, and identify leading practices and market intelligence to be shared with functional business leadersAdvocate for and drive collaborations between Sourcing & Procurement department and Business UnitsThoughtfully leads sourcing events (RFI/RFP) along with a team that consists of business partners, category leads, and sourcing & contract specialistsCreate business case recommendations and partner with functional business leaders to make final decisions on supplier selection and deal generationLead Periodic Business Review and Partner meetings with a focus to drive accountability and improve supplier performanceProvide monthly forecast of projected savingsNegotiate remediations with suppliers, when necessaryDevelop a thorough knowledge of company operations, policies, and proceduresHandle details of a highly confidential and critical nature Key Relationships McKesson Corporate & Business Executive leaders and teamsCategory Leads and Other Category ManagersSuppliers (Management Consulting space, and other professional services)Contract & Sourcing SpecialistsBusiness Units Stakeholders and CustomersShared Services (Legal, Third-Party Security, Risk, etc.) Minimum Requirements 7+ years of overall professional work experienceDirect experience negotiating complex statements of work and consulting rate structures with national and regional consulting companies5+ years of strategic sourcing and category management expertise 3+ years of experience in professional services categories supporting corporate functions (such as, Finance/HR/Legal/Communications/IT) and business functions Additional Knowledge & Skills Problem solving and creative thinkingExcellent reading comprehension and the ability to understand complex contractsStrong written and oral communicationExperience drafting agreements and creating SLA's / performance guaranteesDeveloping and presenting experience with large audiences and executive leadersSkilled in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and ExcelUnderstanding of procurement productivity tracking for savings, avoidance, supplier diversity, and working capital improvement Education 4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience McKesson is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
