Sales Director, The Home Depot Job number: US11449 Position type Regular Function Sales State/Province Georgia City Alpharetta Region US Posting Date: Jan-15-2020 Division Information The Hardware and Home Improvement (HHI) division of Spectrum Brands is a major manufacturer and supplier of residential locksets, residential builders' hardware, faucets, and commercial locksets and doors, with a portfolio of renowned brands, including Kwikset, Weiser, Baldwin, National Hardware, Stanley, FANAL, Pfister, EZSET, and Tell. HHI is a leader in its key markets with #1 positions in U.S. residential locksets (Kwikset), Canada residential locksets (Weiser), U.S. luxury locksets (Baldwin), and U.S. builders' hardware (Stanley-National Hardware), #2 in Mexico residential hardware (Fanal), #3 in U.S. retail plumbing (Pfister), and #1 in U.S. retail commercial locksets. Headquartered in Orange County, California, HHI has a global sales force and operates manufacturing and distribution facilities in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Asia. Job Summary This Sales Director works with The Home Depot key decision makers to implement account strategies. Responsibilities include execution of promotional plan, category management, development of national promotions, monitoring plan-o-gram for maximum sales, provide key metrics to account decision makers, and present quarterly business review updating strategies and results. Responsibilities also include strategic account planning, forecasting, demand planning, and driving overall customer profitability and sales growth. Primary Duties & Responsibilities - (20%) Develops and implements plans and strategies to include top-line sales plan, promotional plan, product mix plan, new product introductions and merchandising strategies that are in-line with HHI channel objectives. - (10%) Develops and implements an account strategy that will deliver the sales and profit objectives for assigned accounts. - (15%) Develops and maintains relationships with key personnel and facilitate meetings and presentations. - (5%) Meet and exceed organizational objectives and support fiscal responsibility. - (5%) Accurately forecasts future product demand and top line sales figures - (10%) Communicates regularly with appropriate team members regarding account updates and plans. - (5%) Participates in a cross-functional role for other business elements (Manufacturing, Operations, Marketing, Customer Service, Quality, Finance, Legal). - (5%) Handle account inquiries and customer service issues. Develop a plan and structure for communicating and successfully executing promotions, special programs, new products, and other relevant activities to customers. - (5%) Advise Marketing and Sales management in development of overall business and marketing strategies as well as advertising plans as appropriate. Recommend opportunities for increased HHI penetration, based on knowledge of customers and their business, utilizing input from all available sources. - (5%) Maintain current knowledge of market conditions and trends, through own field research and sharing information with others in sales and marketing. - (5%) Develop recommendations for capital, operating and staffing budgets. Collaborate with other directors in the development of a coordinated budget for Vice President Approval. Provide fiscal oversight of allocated resources, assets and expenses. Make necessary decisions to adjust for variations in projected budget income caused by fluctuating volumes and other external factors. - (5%) Provide ongoing recognition, feedback and development, holding employees accountable for success. Identify and mentor future organizational leaders. Ensure appropriate resources are provided to employees. Develop a staffing plan that meets both customer expectations and financial constraints. Create an environment where employee feedback facilitates positive change. - (5%) Works in the field/stores with key sales personnel to insure that strategies are in-line with customer focus. Education and Experience Profile - Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field required. - MBA Preferred - 5+ years' experience as National Account Manager, Marketing Management - 5+ years leading people - Retail / Home Center experience highly preferred. Required Skills - Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities. - Ability to strategically develop plans and processes. - Strong verbal, organizational, written and interpersonal skills required. - Demonstrated sales and negotiation Skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Self-Motivated with strong work ethic - Problem Solver - Proven track record for successful sales achievement compared to quota, profit compared to budget and effective expense control. - Candidate must be highly motivated with the ability to multi-task and deliver results. Work Environment Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Travel: This position requires moderate Travel.
