Job Description:
This role involves performing independent medical assessments on
U.S. Veterans as part of the VA disability benefits process.
The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Provider reviews medical
records via a secure Web Portal and conducts comprehensive
assessments.
Completes condition-specific Disability Benefit Questionnaires
(DBQs) to document exam findings; does not determine disability
status.
Reviews approximately 4 Veterans per day, working 2-3 days
weekly.
Ideal candidates are PM&R physicians interested in medical
fact-finding assessments, proficient in record review, data
analysis, and electronic documentation.
Must have a current license as a Physiatrist and Board
Certification in Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and
Neurology.
Quick submission of DBQs within 24 hours of exams is required,
along with strong time management skills.
This is a non-treating, assessment-only position aimed at serving
Veterans in the community.
